Blog Tour For A Book Of Saints For Catholic Moms

October 18, 2011 By: hendey Category: Appearances, Books, Lisa Hendey

Editor’s Note: I’m indebted to my friends at Ave Maria Press for their wonderful support in helping me to “launch” my new book, A Book of Saints for Catholic Moms. During the weeks ahead, I’ll be “touring” cyberspace spreading the good news about the Communion of Saints and sharing about this book. If you’d like to participate in hosting a stop along the blog tour, please email me — I promise to be a good houseguest! Thanks to all who have supported A Book of Saints for Catholic Moms. Your kindness and encouragement mean the world to me! Lisa

Lisa Hendey, entrepreneur, founder of CatholicMom.com, and sought-after new media expert, will begin her blog tour on Tuesday, October 18, as part of the launch of her newest book, A Book of Saints for Catholic Moms.

While this book tour exists in the blogosphere, Hendey’s family owns a real-life Volkswagen bus, and we wanted to include him in the festivities. He is named Arnold, after his original owner.

Hendey’s fans and friends are invited to follow her virtual travels as she is interviewed, reviewed, and offers guest posts on several popular blogs. Her schedule will be updated as posts are confirmed, and currently includes:

National Catholic Register Article on Faith and Social Media

August 06, 2011 By: hendey Category: Appearances, Lisa Hendey

covNCR0731-200x326A great big thank you to National Catholic Register reporter Barb Ernster for her kindness in mentioning CatholicMom.com and my work at St. Anthony of Padua in her recent article for the Register. You can read the article online here. To be quoted along with Fr. Robert Barron, Mary Kay Hoal, Matt Warner and other “wired” Catholics is a real honor.

I recently subscribed to the print edition of the Register and can’t wait to begin receiving it regularly in my mailbox! While I’ve been an online reader of the Register for years, a print subscription to the paper is a great way to support their mission and to send a strong signal that we need and will support great Catholic media. To learn more about subscribing, click here.

Vatican Blogger Meeting

April 22, 2011 By: hendey Category: Appearances, Events, Lisa Hendey, Speaking

I’ve had to look at the list at least ten times to personally confirm what it says – my name was one of the 150 selected to attend the upcoming Vatican Meeting for Bloggers. I’m tardy blogging about this, mostly because it still doesn’t feel like a reality.

When the initial invitation to apply for what’s commonly being referred to as the Vatican “Blogfest” came up, I decided to try for the opportunity. I’d been greatly wishing for a trip to Rome, primarily to attend the Beatification ceremonies for Servant of God Pope John Paul II. When the Pontifical Councils for Social Communications and Culture announced a joint meeting for Catholic bloggers, I applied, knowing that I would be one of literally hundreds hoping to attend this forum. The PCSC shared the following goals in their primary announcement of the event: (more…)

I’m so happy to share the good news that I’ll be at Holy Family Church in South Pasadena this week on Thursday visiting with the members of the parish’s Women’s Connection ministry.  We’ll be holding two sessions based upon my book, The Handbook for Catholic Moms: Nurturing Your Heart, Mind, Body, and Soul.  Both sessions will feature personal reflections and a “mini retreat” type of atmosphere based around the parish’s theme of discipleship, so we’ll be looking at how we can each claim the role of disciple within the context of our busy lives.   (more…)
