I love speaking around the country at conferences and parishes, but honestly one of my favorite events is right here in my own backyard.  It is now time to register online for the upcoming Diocese of Fresno Congress.  Visit the Congress website here for news and information.  I will be giving two presentations – Unity in the Eucharist:  Becoming a Eucharistic Family and Pastoral Ministry in a Digital World.  Additionally, the Congress is situated in Visalia, quite near beautiful national parks in a lovely part of our state.  If you live in or near California, I hope you will join us for this wonderful event!

On Wednesday, March 10 I’ll be a part of a special team presenting a half day Clergy Communications Workshop for the priests of the Diocese of Fresno.  Our very forward-thinking Bishop has embraced Pope Benedict XVI’s  World Communications Day Message for this year and is providing this opportunity to assist the priests of our diocese with implementing technology strategies in their ministry.  The Fresno Bee shared information on this workshop in this recent article.  Please join me in praying for our priests and those who will join me in presenting this event.

This past weekend, I had the absolute honor of visiting with the parishioners of my fellow Diocese of Fresno parish St. Joachim’s in Madera, CA.  One of their priests, Fr. Rafael Lavilla, OSJ, kindly invited me to give the introductory remarks for their screening of The 13th Day: The True Story of Fatima. Fr. Rafael, an amazing young priest, struck upon the idea of presenting the film as a fundraiser for the parish’s wonderful Theology of the Body group. (more…)
