“Rejoice in the Lord always. I shall say it again: rejoice!” Philippians 4:4
I’ve been involved in lots of fun and innovative facets of the New Evangelization, but very few of them can top my recent experience of being interviewed high atop the roof at the CatholicTV studios in Watertown, Massachusetts.
The set up for the interview was perfect: Matt Weber, host of the incredibly awesome program The Lens, created a segment to explore “outside the box” ideas for sharing our faith. So one particularly hot day last summer, Matt and I climbed through a window at CatholicTV and up onto the roof. Knowing Matt and loving his creativity as I do, I was not at all surprised when I spotted two identical dinosaur squirt guns sitting off set. Matt is not only a gifted and Emmy-nominated television personality. He is also one of my favorite authors and a totally rocking speaker as well.
Watch @LisaHendey defeat @MattWeber_ in an epic @catholictv squirt gun battle. Share on XSo when Matt Weber asks me to go on the roof of a building in rampant humidity, I go, no questions asked. And when he informs me that at some point during my interview, a squirt gun battle will ensue, I prepare to take aim.
I recommend that you tune in for the entire interview to learn why I’m so inspired by the evangelical tactics of second graders. But if you must jump straight to our epic dragon squirt gun battle, you’ll find it about six minutes in. I believe that despite my distinct height disadvantage, I prevailed.
I’d like to thank Matt Weber for reminding me that sharing our faith should be a joy-filled prospect. Matt, next time I’m bringing my Super Soaker!
