A huge thanks to Father Robert Reed, Bonnie Rodgers and the entire staff of CatholicTV for their recent hospitality and warm welcome. In case you missed this appearance, you can find my interview below. You’ll also love their conversation with Mr. Robert Duvall!
For months now, I’ve been looking forward to my upcoming television appearance on CatholicTV’s wonderful show This is the Day. Imagine how I felt when the following press release landed in my inbox – the other guest on the show will be none other than Robert Duvall! Unfortunately, I don’t think Mr. Duvall will be in studio, so I won’t be able to hand him a copy of my book in person, but it’s such an honor to share time on a show with such a noted actor.
Here are all of the details – I hope you’ll be able to tune in and watch what promises to be a very exciting show.
Academy-Award-Winning Actor Robert Duvall Will Appear on Live Catholic Talk Show
On August 6th, the live CatholicTV talk show “This is the Day” will include an interview with actor Robert Duvall.
Duvall will discuss his role in the upcoming film “Get Low”, “a movie spun out of equal parts folk tale, fable and real-life legend about the mysterious, 1930s Tennessee hermit who famously threw his own rollicking funeral party, while he was still alive”. (more…)
Thanks to my friend and fellow podcaster Jerry Weber for his kind invitation to appear on The Catholic Revolver to discuss my book, our Catholic Moments podcast, and CatholicMom.com. Tune in here to listen to the archived show, or click on the player below.
I thank the Guild and specifically Sarah Reinhard and Walt Staples for their consideration of my book and for their tremendous support of Catholic writers.
Update – Here are updated flyers for the Chicago event on April 14 at 6:30 pm as well as a new event at the Hammes Bookstore at the University of Notre Dame on Saturday, April 17 at 1:00 pm:
I hope friends living in Central California will be able to come visit with me this weekend, Sunday, April 11 at the St. Marello Bookstore at St. Joachim’s Catholic Church in Madera, California. I will be in the bookstore signing books and hoping to meet you following all of the Masses on Sunday. Hope to see you there!
I wanted to share with you my recent interview with Genevieve Pollock of Zenit, where we discussed the vocation of motherhood and The Handbook for Catholic Moms. Genevieve posed some incredibly thoughtful questions, and it was a real treat to have my book featured by one of my favorite Catholic resources. View the entire interview here.
Thank you to everyone at CatholicTV, especially Fr. Robert Reed and Kevin Nelson for the recent opportunity they provided for me to share about on their great program, This is the Day. In case you missed the program, you can view it here.
Since I’m such a huge fan of Catholic podcasts, it was a real treat last week to have The Handbook for Catholic Moms: Nurturing Your Heart, Mind, Body and Soul featured on two of my favorite shows. Listen in to the iPadre Catholic Podcast to hear my conversation with one of my favorite priests, Fr. Jay Finelli. Fr. Jay is a contributor to the book, and one of those hold priests who really “gets” the use of new media in his priesthood. If I had the opportunity to chat with Fr. Jay every week, I’d likely be a much better wife, mom and person.
The second podcast to feature the book last week was my very own family of mom bloggers at the Faith & Family Live Cast. You can almost hear me blushing out loud at the very kind remarks offered by my friends and writing colleagues Danielle Bean and Arwen Mosier. Honestly, hearing the two of them talk so sweetly about our book made my heart sing. Since both of these two fine writers are also contributors to the book, it was especially joyful to share this conversation with them!
A big thank you to my friend and fellow podcaster Chris Cash for inviting me to appear on his great program, Catholic Spotlight. Chris and I had a very fun conversation about the background behind my book, how the idea came together, and the content of the book. Chris is a great interviewer, so I had a blast chatting with him about this exciting time in my life. Listen to the podcast on the player here, or visit Chris’ Catholic Spotlight website for many great interviews with noted Catholics.

A huge thank you to my great friend and fellow author Donna-Marie Cooper O’Boyle for making The Handbook for Catholic Moms one of her top book picks during her recent appearance on Kresta in the Afternoon. Donna-Marie and host Al Kresta spent a few moments discussing my soon-to-be published book, as well as her other favorites of 2009. As we draw near to a publication date, words like these from Donna-Marie mean the world to me. If you missed this conversation, click on the player below to listen.
